Becoming a parent is one of life’s most beautiful, exhausting and fleeting experiences — and your baby won’t stay this tiny forever. That’s why many families choose to capture those earliest days with professional newborn photography that feels relaxed, natural and full of emotion. At Heather Elizabeth Photography in Cheshire, you won’t just be paying for photos — you’ll be investing in memories you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
What Does a Newborn Photography Session Cost?
When families ask “How much is newborn photography?”, the answer always comes with a little context. A session includes so much more than the time spent taking pictures. You’re paying for:
A baby-safe studio environment designed with comfort in mind.
A photographer fully trained in newborn handling, safety and posing.
A selection of beautiful props, wraps, blankets and accessories to personalise your session.
Unlimited care, calm and patience as your baby settles — because babies don’t keep to schedules.
Time spent guiding you before, during and after your shoot — from booking through to your image reveal session.
At Heather’s Cheshire studio in Runcorn, the Newborn Mini Session starts at around £145, offering a shorter photo experience with no unwrapped poses — perfect for simpler imagery or tighter budgets.
Full newborn sessions — where we carefully document a range of poses and family images — are a fuller investment. These sessions are designed to give you a wide range of keepsake images and products, from digital downloads to Fine Art Prints, Albums and Wall Art you’ll be proud to display.
When Should You Book A newborn photography session?
rices reflect the care, experience and training that go into every session. Heather only takes a set number of newborn bookings each month so that every family has the attention and relaxed experience they deserve.
To guarantee availability, many parents book as early as their 12–20 week scan. Once your baby arrives, we set an exact date — ideally within the first 3–16 days of life, because this is when babies are most settled and flexible for classic newborn poses.
Is Newborn Photography Worth It?
Absolutely. Your baby will grow, change, and in what feels like no time at all, those first tiny days will be a distant memory. Investing in newborn photography means capturing emotion, connection and those delicate details — tiny toes, sleepy yawns, tiny fingers curled around your own — in a way that smartphone snapshots simply can’t match.
Whether you’re after a full studio experience rich with styling and wall art, or a mini session for simpler keepsakes, newborn photography is one of those few things you’ll never regret. If you’re curious about your options and pricing, get in touch — Heather would love to help you preserve these beautiful early days forever.
